Picture

The AFA board is a dynamic group of individuals who come together, each bringing their own set of unique talents and experience. The AFA Board oversees all of the day-to-day operations, as well as setting goals and objectives to keep the organization moving in a positive direction in support of our mission.

Our board members serve as AFA ambassadors to the community.

As with many folks, it only took one visit to the Almanor area, and we were hooked.  I purchased a home in 1995, and we were fortunate to move in full time in 2014.  That same year my wife and I joined the Almanor Fishing Association.  I volunteered to be one of the fish feeders for the fish rearing program in the Hamilton Branch.  It wasn’t long before I had the honor of being elected to the AFA Board of Directors.  I feel fortunate to be involved with the AFA and all the dedicated volunteers who make such a positive impact on the Lake Almanor fishery and community.

I am a twenty year member and proud of our accomplishments pertaining to our Fish Pen Program, protecting and enhancing the Fishery and our positive involvement in our Community.   As we have grown, we continue to look for opportunities to assist our neighbors with both volunteers and financial assistance.  I am proud, this year, as it will mark the feeding and releasing of two million trout into our lake.  I extend to you an invitation to come join our Organization.    RP

Retired from the City of Santa Clara Fire Department. I was introduced to Lake Almanor in 1972, and began spending fishing trips here with my family and friends. I became a member of AFA in 2005, and became a board member in 2010. My wife and I have been running the annual picnic since 2011. I’m proud to be part of this organization.

I’ve been a middle school PE teacher and high school baseball coach in Woodland, CA, for the past 30 years. Outside of education, I’m passionate about the outdoors and have been a seasonal resident of Lake Almanor Country Club for over 21 years. I also enjoy fishing and have worked as a fishing guide for the past seven years. Since 2020, I’ve been actively involved with the AFA Board, supporting its initiatives and community engagement.

I have been an active member for several years with this exceptional organization.  I have been involved with our fish rearing program as a delivery and feeder person, Veterans fishing event as a captain, and the AFA annual picnic event.
I’m very familiar with Lake Almanor.
In 1996 we purchased a home here, then in 2018 we became full-time residents.
I look forward to working with our Board focusing on new ideas on how we can continue to improve fishing even more at Lake Almanor. Lake Almanor is a special place and I pledge to continue to make every effort so others can understand the special feeling felt by everyone in our community.

My connection to Lake Almanor began in 1965, when I vacationed at my family’s cabin on the Hamilton Branch. In 2014, my wife Teresa and I were lucky enough to buy our own cabin on the Hamilton Branch. We’ve been seasonal residents ever since.
Our involvement with AFA began when Brett Hurff invited us to the Founder’s BBQ. Since then, Teresa and I have been active members and volunteers, supporting events and initiatives that promote the Lake Almanor fishery and its surrounding community.
As a new board member, I’m looking forward to working with the AFA to help sustain the Lake Almanor fishery and give back to the community that’s meant so much to us over the years.

I retired from the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office in 2007. In 2012 my wife Patti and I bought a place in Hamilton Branch, dividing our time between there and our home in Williams. My next-door neighbor was fishing guide Duncan McIntyre who became a good friend and my Lake Almanor fishing mentor. I soon joined the Almanor Fishing Association and on Duncan’s suggestion signed up as a boat Captain for the very first AFA Veterans Fishing Day. Every year since I have participated in this great event.
In 2025 Patti and I moved up to Almanor full-time, and I signed up as a feeder in our fish rearing program. Recently in 2026 I was honored to be elected to the AFA Board of Director’s and look forward to serving with such a dedicated group.

I’ve been vacationing at Lake Almanor with my family every summer since 1986 and was finally able to move here in 2014.  I joined AFA in 2015 and have been part of the fish feeding team ever since.  I’m honored to join the board this year and look forward to helping sustain the Lake Almanor fishery and support the community of Lake Almanor basin.

In 2021, my wife and I decided to escape the Bay Area congestion and make Lake Almanor our permanent home.
I joined the AFA after fishing with Bryan Roccucci and speaking with him about the many programs the AFA is involved with. I started in the AFA as a “Feeder” in the fish rearing Pen Program that has been in existence since 1985.
I’m excited to be part of the Board of Directors and will work to insure we continue all current and possibly include more programs and activities into the future.

I have been visiting Lake Almanor every year since I was a kid, when my family would camp at rocky point campground and spend our days enjoying everything the area has to offer. In 2017, I continued that tradition by purchasing a home in the LACC. Today, I enjoy sharing those same experiences with my own family spending time fishing on the lake, hiking scenic trails, and mountain biking throughout the area.  It’s a place where we can slow down, reconnect, and create new memories together. In addition to my connection to Lake Almanor, I have owned my own business since 2006. Through my work and personal life, I value dedication, consistency, and building something meaningful. Whether that’s a business or a family tradition that continues to grow year after year.
