The Almanor Fishing Association will host its 31st Founders’ Annual Family BBQ and Fundraiser on Saturday, July 27th, 2024, from 4 pm to 9 pm at the Lake Almanor Country Club Rec 1 Picnic Area. Dinner will be served between 5 pm and 6 pm. The menu will be our traditional New York steaks dinner for $25 or a Hot Dog dinner for $10. Both meals include beans, salad, bread, and cookies. Drink tickets for Sierra Nevada beer, wine, soda, and water are also available on location.  Tickets will be available closer to the event day.

Following the dinner there will be a silent auction and large raffle drawing for prizes such as overnight stays at casinos, cash, golf packages, coolers, fishing gear (rods, reels, lures, dodgers, etc.), gift certificates to restaurants, gift baskets, and much, much more. There will be door prizes and a unique special raffle. In addition, each child in attendance between the ages of 3 and 14 will go home with a prize!

Buy your New York Steak dinner tickets early for $25 and Hot Dog Dinner tickets for $10. More Information TBD.

This annual event is the only fundraiser hosted by our dedicated and active non-profit group of men and women volunteers. Funds from the event support the publication of our annual newsletter, The Almanor Fisherman, our association's fish rearing cage program, scholarships for local high school students that we award each year and provides financial support to the Chester High School Limnology Laboratory when needed. The Almanor Fishing Association Fish Rearing Cage Program is the largest and most successful pen project in the state. To date, more than 3.2 million Eagle Lake trout have been released into Lake Almanor by the association's volunteers. Our annual BBQ is necessary to raise funds so we can continue to make Lake Almanor a trophy trout lake for the North state. The association is also responsible for the picnic area and restrooms at the Fishing Access Area at Hamilton Branch.

We welcome new members and are always in need of volunteers to help feed fish during the cage rearing season (winter and spring) and to work our annual fundraiser.
